Tile and Amazon: & lsquo; Logical partnership & rsquo;

The Echo speakers and Ring doorbells are both owned by Amazon. This company has now announced that a partnership with Tile is planned. The Amazon Sidewalk feature will be added to the Tile Bluetoot trackers, creating an even larger network. With that, both companies increase coverage, so that Tile users can find their stuff more easily. Tile users also get voice functions through Alexa: you can say “ Alexa, find my keys '' to ensure that your key ring starts to ring. Obviously, a Tile must be attached to it.

Also works outdoors
Indoors, Echo devices will help you find things faster. However, according to Tile's CEO, it is also useful outdoors. More and more people have installed a Ring doorbell. He can see what is happening in the street with a camera (even if that is not allowed), but can also connect via Bluetooth to all kinds of devices that come close. If you walk past such a doorbell with your backpack with a Tile attached, your location can be passed on to the network. According to CJ Prober, CEO of Tile, a partnership with Amazon was a logical choice, although it must have been a factor that Apple now has the AirTag.

AirTags use the Find My network, Tile now from Amazon Sidewalk. The company already had the Tile Network to allow other Tile users to help you search anonymously. Through this collaboration, Ring and Echo owners can also strengthen the network. It is true that these devices are permanently in the same place, so in a remote area you are still dependent on a casual passer-by. However, if your stolen backpack is thrown into a Ring user's yard, the signal can be passed on. The collaboration will start on June 14.

Tile is in a conflict with Apple. According to Tile, they don't get the same developer tools and capabilities that Apple makes available to its own developers, causing unfair competition. The company has filed several complaints, including in the EU.
