Gamescom 2021: The world's largest games fair will once again take place purely digitally

The world's largest trade fair for computer and video games will once again take place digitally this year, after a hybrid of an online and offline event for August 25th to 27th Gamescom was planned to take place. But the COVID-19 pandemic resulting from the coronavirus provides the framework once again.

Gamescom 2021 only digital

Together with the game association, we have given everything to enable the fans and the industry to have a hybrid Gamescom in 2021. But even if the concept was very well received by the partners, we had to recognize that Gamescom is still too early for many companies in the industry due to the necessary planning security.

Gamescom 2020 with its 370 partners from 44 countries, which also took place as a purely digital event, was followed by around 50 million people from 180 countries over the Internet, according to the organizers.
