Activists in Stockholm, Uppsala, Gothenburg, Malmö and Lund, among others, sat in different places in the middle of the street in order to stop the traffic in something they call “Rebellion of One”.

< A total of sixteen people are said to have taken part in the climate protests, in different cities. Sydsvenskan photographer Hussein El-alawi was present and watched the protest in Malmö.

– There was only one person in each place who protested, he explains to Fria Tider.

El- alawi took a picture of a woman sitting in the middle of the street with a sign with the text: “I am terrified of more pandemics due to the climate crisis”. Others carried signs with texts stating that they were afraid that their grandchildren would be forced to flee Sweden due to the climate.

The police write on their website that the demonstrations took place peacefully and “in dialogue” in most cities. However, a 65-year-old man in Uppsala refused the obedient police's call to move and was therefore fined.

Extinction rebellion writes on Facebook that they are already planning more similar actions.
