LEGO has officially announced its partnership with Adidas Originals today for their collaborative redesign of the Adidas Originals ZX 8000 sneaker. The fun, retro shoes will be available globally for $130 on September 25 on the Adidas website and at select retailers, but there is a catch if you’re hoping to snag a pair.

The ZX 8000 sneakers are an homage to classic LEGOs, with their bold colors and LEGO details. The body of the sneakers is made up of synthetic suede and multicolor mesh, with a rubber outsole. All across the shoe are multiple LEGO details, like LEGO brick lace jewels, LEGO studs on the heel and lace cage, LEGO branded yellow sock liners, and six colorful lace options.

The shoes are part of Adidas’ A-ZX series, which is an ode to its original ZX series that launched in 1984. This fun collaboration isn’t LEGO’s first; the Danish toy maker also launched a recent partnership with Levi’s for various clothing and accessories.

As we mentioned, however, there is a catch: you can’t just flat-out purchase the shoes. There are three ways you can explore if you’re hoping to get your hands on a pair. One, you can enter a raffle on the Adidas iOS or Android app (open immediately) and hope you win. Two, you can enter a raffle through LEGO’s site, which will cost you up to 50 VIP points and enough luck that you’re allowed to buy a pair. And three, you can spend 15,600 VIP points on LEGO’s site to get your pair if your particular size is still available and not already sold out. Both options on LEGO’s site start September 25, 2020.

There is no update from either LEGO or Adidas regarding whether this is an initially limited run for the sneaker, with more coming out later, or if the few available through these raffles or for LEGO VIP members are the extent of it.
