In spinach contained substance accelerates the strength gain in Training. The effect is so tremendous that the study Director of the WADA recommends that, ecdysterone on the black list.

Popeye effect in elite sport: spinach gives you super powers and a contained substance list on the doping. This is the opinion of Maria Parr represents from the Institute for pharmacy of the Free University of Berlin. They conducted a study that noted: The substance of ecdysterone leads to a significantly higher increase in strength and an increase in performance – as demonstrated already, the cartoon character.

The study was supported by the world Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). During a ten-week strength training of 46 sports have been learning either a Placebo or the substance of ecdysterone was administered. The result is A three times higher increase in strength compared to the Placebo group. Similar results had already shown in earlier studies in other countries.

For bodybuilders, such as Jens Dalsgaard a tripling of the power increase is likely to be tempting

“Our hypothesis was that we would see an increase in performance, but that would be so great, that we had not expected,” said Parr in an Interview with the German TV channels ARD and Arte.

The Professor has recommended to WADA, therefore, to put ecdysterone on the doping list. Whether that’s so will be determined by a competent panel of experts to the WADA. It is wait and see but further studies to find out how the use of ecdysterone in top-level sport is widely used.
