A football world champion and the first German Wimbledon champion since Steffi Graf Philipp Lahm and Angelique Kerber were more than 2000 guests from Sport, politics and show business over the trophies to look forward to.

The former soccer world champion Philipp Lahm and Tennis ACE, Angelique Kerber are on the 37. German sports press ball been awarded in Frankfurt for their exceptional achievements. Lahm was honored on Saturday as a “legend of sport”. Wimbledon champion, Kerber has received the award “Athlete with heart”.
The 34-year-old Lahm is in a series with Sports stars such as Heiner Brand, Boris Becker, Franz Beckenbauer, Katarina Witt, Michael Schumacher or Uwe Seeler. “I hope not, I still have half my life behind me. Therefore, it is a strange feeling,” said Lahm on the Red carpet in front of the Old Opera.
The Ex-Pro had led the DFB-selection 2014 as a captain to the world Cup Triumph and Bayern Munich in his successful career, the Champions League, and several times the German championship and the DFB-Cup win.

Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber did not honor the organizers in the first place for their sporting accomplishments, but for living the values of commitment to charity, humanity and Fairness.
