A message of “image”-newspaper is fueling the speculation about a farewell to Thomas Tuchel’s Borussia Dortmund. The alleged Top-favorite for the succession is still covered.

Coach Lucien Favre is according to the “Bild”-Zeitung, the Top candidate for the succession of Thomas Tuchel as coach of Borussia Dortmund. The BVB was with Favre already “largely in agreement”, the newspaper reported, without naming its sources. In the interview, a one-year contract for the Swiss plus an Option on a further season. However, an agreement with Favre’s current club OGC nice, on the transfer fee is still to come. It is said to be between four and five million euros.

Favre says nothing (yet)

The coach has the third of the French League placed a contract until mid-2019. “Dortmund has the right to think of a commitment from Favre’s. But he has never commented on the desire to leave us,” said nice Director General Julien Fournier. Also OGC-President Jean-Pierre Rivere has stressed that BVB have not contacted nice. Favre himself declined to comment. “I don’t want to talk about it,” said the 59-Year-old.

Tuchel’s contract at Dortmund runs until 2018.
