Rumor: Apple shifts production of larger iPad a few months on

Apple will start the production of the larger iPad with a 12.9″screen, not at the end of 2014 but the beginning of 2015. It reports the usually well established The Wall Street Journal on the basis of sources from suppliers. The mass production would start early next year, because suppliers are very busy with the production of iPhones.

The delay is at most a few months, apparent from the message of The Wall Street Journal. The mass production in december to start, but will now only take place from the beginning of next year, presumably in January or February. The tablet would then likely at the earliest in February or march in the shop, but it would also be this spring. It is not known whether the launch date has been moved.

The producers can the larger iPad not yet, because they are busy with the production of iPhones. Especially the demand for the larger iPhone 6 Plus would be higher than expected. The claims in the article are difficult to verify, but The Wall Street Journal has an almost flawless reputation in the field of news coverage about Apple.

The larger iPad would have a 12.9″lcd. That would be Apple, just like Samsung, and Microsoft the step car to tablets with screens that are much larger than around 10″. How Apple will use would want to take advantage of the larger screen, is unknown. The sales of Apple’s tablets the same as that of the tablet market as a whole, more than half a year back. The iPad-maker holds next week, an event where the presumably new iPads will be present.
