Microsoft has, under the name of Next Lock Screen, a new app for Android phones released. The custom lockscreen is an outgrowth of the so-called Garage Project from Microsoft in which developers of the company in their free time develop programs.

Next Lock Screen gives the user of an Android smartphone direct access to the calendar, a missed call, e-mail or text messages without having the device unlocked.
