Lexar announces CFast memory card with read speed of 510MB/s

Lexar has new CompactFlash cards announced that maximum read speeds up to 510MB/s would achieve. This brings the cards up to three times as fast as CompactFlash cards from competitors, so claims the manufacturer.

The Lexar Professional cards comply with the CFast 2.0 standard, which the flashchips be accessed through a sata interface. According to Lexar to know his new cards substantially higher speeds to achieve than equivalent CompactFlash cards. The manufacturer claims ‘3400x’-speeds that can reach up to 510MB/s. Write calls the company does not, however, except that it is lower.

Lexar provides the new CompactFlash cards with storage capacities of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. According to the manufacturer, the cards are especially useful for video recording in high resolution, including hd and uhd videos. On the cards is a 10 year guarantee given. Prices, the company has not released yet.
