Dutch start-up makes remote management of ‘social’ digital photo frame

The Dutch startup Famatic is a campaign started on Kickstarter to get the money together for the production of a digital photo frame at a distance to manage. The frame is intended for digibeten and their families.

The digital photo frame is must in people in the house that little of the technology we still don’t have pictures of for example your family want to see. Start-up Famatic focuses on family members of elderly people who are on that way to stay informed with photographs of grandchildren, according to the page on Kickstarter.

The photo frame has an internet connection and users can upload photos via the website of Famatic, or an app to an e-mail address. Also is there a link with Facebook and Instagram to share photos directly to the device. The owners of the frame by means of a sound that there are new photos.

The digital photo frame has a 8″-ips-lcd with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels, a total of four speakers for playback of sound in videos, and a dual-core ARM soc with two processor cores at 1.5 GHz. The built-in battery has a capacity of 4300mAh and would be four hours of continuous pictures can show. The Famatic also has cameras and a microphone, that possibly in the future for video conferencing can be used, but the software supports that yet.

The start-up think that $ 75,000 is needed for the production of the first batch. That money should be in about a month and a half. The campaign is on the American site Kickstarter.
