Start-up shows soc’s that smartwatch battery life of a month

A start-up who has money got include Samsung and Qualcomm has been the first line of socs for wearables presented. The soc’s have a battery life of a month may make the portable telephone accessories, such as watches.

The line socs with the name Dhanush comes in four variants. There are less powerful variants for wearables, while the more luxurious models also have advanced graphics, display and mobile operating systems can run. The company behind the soc’s, the American-Indian Ineda says that all socs have a battery life of one month. Ineda does not mention what the requirements are in the field of, for example, accugrootte to that month, but claims that the battery life up to ten times as good as with current wearables.

The more luxurious models have a ‘sensorhub’, which is input from sensors, can process independently of the applicatieprocessor which wearables can always listen to voice commands and, for example, steps can count.

The company has very little technical details are published about the processors for wearables, such as the architecture and core they are based, whether and which gpu is onboard, and whether the soc’s also support on-board for wireless technologies such as wi-fi and bluetooth. From the images on the site is that the socs have multiple processing cores on board will have: a ‘application processor class core, a low-power processor and a core for the sensorhub. The company indicates the soc’s themselves if ‘wpu’, wearable processing unit.
