Pop-ups indicate Windows XP users on the approaching end of support

Microsoft warns users of the more than twelve-year-old Windows XP for the approaching end of support for the operating system via pop-ups. Furthermore, it provides a tool to settings and accounts to convert to a newer OS.

Microsoft let the pop-ups starting next Saturday, every eighth of the month will appear, says the company. In the pop-up is a link to a Microsoft web site with information about the end of support for the operating system, then Microsoft under more security holes will not be sealed and users more vulnerable to malware.

Users may receive the pop-up off with a check mark. In addition, Microsoft wants people to switch to help by a free version of PCMover Express; that software normally costs 23,95 euros.
