To access the service packs and firmware updates on the HP Support Center is now a login procedure is required on the basis of a user id. This checks HP on validity, in which the manufacturer checks whether the used equipment is still under warranty or a support contract is concluded. In the communication from the computer manufacturer to read that HP is planning to this new approach eventually also roll out to other product categories.

HP claims that the step is decided to use the method of support more in line with that of other it companies. Also would be the step to better support benefits for HP customers, but the company is not clear in what way the limited access to the client’s advantage. Therefore, it is not inconceivable that HP the step has taken to save costs. This would be required by the declining sales of servers now, more and more companies are using cloud services to use.
