Apple has an application rejected in which children in the picture were with Sinterklaas and Black Pete, claim to be the creators of the app. The software company from Cupertino would be the zwartgeschminkte characters in the app ‘offensive’.

Brandcams, that the application developed for the company behind the tv program, The Club of Sinterklaas, got Apple to hear that the application was not admitted to the App Store due to its ‘objectionable content’. The application is not admitted to the App Store as long as there is still Black Pete’s to see are, an Apple employee indicated opposite BrandCams. The news was first brought by good Morning the Netherlands.

With the SintCam application could be children in the picture with santa Claus and several Helpers, but the helpers of Sinterklaas will now from the application are met. That’s already happened with the Android version of the app, which – including images – by the mark master masons of Google knew. “We have the app now re-submitted to Apple”, says André van Wijhe of Brandcams.

The claim of Brandcams is striking: there are in the App Store now all various applications to find which photos of Zwarte Piet are processed. “Maybe the rejection by the recent fuss about Zwarte Piet,” says Van Wijhe. Recently, there was much commotion about the possible racist nature of the Sinterklaastraditie. Apple is known for its cautious policy of access to the App Store. The company was not reachable for comment.
