Samsung brings kindertablet this year in the Netherlands

Samsung brings its kindertablet Galaxy Tab 3 Kids this year in the Netherlands. Almost 250 euro-dollar tablet has a “parental lock,” in which children after a preset period of time no longer by able to play on the tablet.

The tablet is modeled on a Galaxy Tab 3 7″ and has a 7″screen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels, the resolution of Samsung since the beginning is used for its Galaxy Tab series. The tablet has various applications which are aimed at children. More apps and games are also to be found in the Kids Store, a spin-off of Samsung’s own downloadwinkel.

Samsung will the tablet deliver in yellow with a supplied orange-protective case, with which he against drops and bumps can. The manufacturer also gives a case, which he put upright for viewing video. That costs 50 euros. A pen under the name of C Pen can for 20 euro to be bought.

The processor is a Marvell PXA986 with Vivante GC1000 gpu. The processor cores are based on Cortex A9 core and the two cores running up to 1.2 GHz. This is clearly a cheap processor: Samsung had also be able to opt for the quadcore variant, which is pin-compatible. The soc is the same as the regular 7″ Galaxy Tab 3. The kindertablet get a suggested retail price of 249 euros, 70 euros more than the Tab 3 7″ now costs.
