Nokia stops this summer with the production of phones with its own Symbian operating system. After this summer, there are probably still stocks sold, for example, Nokia’s last Symbian device, the 808 PureView with 41-megapixel camera.

The specialist site AllAboutSymbian, that many sources within Nokia, calls the period referred to in paragraph ‘about right’. Thus ends the production of Symbians nearly 2.5 years after the announcement that Nokia has switched to Windows Phone for smartphones. Nokia managing director Stephen Elop announced in February 2011.
