Sega brings in the summer Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse on the market, a new version of a same game from 1990, which was published for the Sega Mega Drive. The new version will appear as a download for Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The new version of Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse is a re-imaging of the original, which, in 1990, appeared for the Sega Mega Drive, suggests publisher Sega in the announcement. The original was a side-scroller, and that also seems to apply to the new version, although Sega has not outlet. The story is the same as in the original: Mickey needs Minnie to save from the hands of the evil witch Mizrabel. The new version will download only available and published for Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game is made by Sega Studios Australia.

Disney Interactive, the company that hold the rights to Mickey Mouse, had in recent years been very successful, with games around the mouse. It left Warren Spector, well-known from the first Deus Ex games, two games with Mickey Mouse in the starring role. In both games, Epic Mickey in 2010 and Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two from 2012, however, were not a success. Disney closed Junction Point, the studio, Spector, both games delivered.
