Dell has indicated that the demand for the XPS 10, its first Windows RT tablet, disappointing. Still it says the manufacturer of the computer that it still has confidence in the young operating system, and that in the future more RT devices will bring.

Dell executive Neil Hand said opposite to Cnet that the demand for the XPS 10 probably disappointing because consumers do not understand what Windows RT is. In addition, would the app offer is still not strong enough to consumers to convince. Therefore, it would be the image people have of Windows RT currently have mostly negative, according to Hand. Dell is currently in collaboration with Microsoft and retailers engaged in the development of new ad campaigns that the usefulness of Windows RT clearer for the consumer.

Despite the disappointing demand says Dell still has to have faith in Windows RT, and new products with the OS would be in development. Not all manufacturers share dell’s optimism: Samsung decided, for example, earlier this year for its Ativ Tab tablet in the United States, because of a poor reception on the European market, and in Germany, the tablet is withdrawn from the market. Microsoft would not be happy with the sales of his Surface RT tablet, though the company has publicly not said. Chip maker Nvidia recently spoke about a ‘disappointing reception” for the new OS.

Windows RT came last fall on the market and is a special version of Windows 8 that only on arm hardware running and not compatible with existing Windows programs. Because this kind of hardware in the line have less power than x86 chips, RT-tablets in theory, thinner and more economical than tablets with x86 hardware and Windows 8.
