Japan Display shows a 5.2″-oled-panel on the basis of the rgbw pixels developed. The screen has a full hd resolution, making the pixel density comes out at 423ppi. Japan Display makes the display use a process on the basis of white oleds with a color filter.

Japan Display announced in september last year, a 4.5″-oled-panel with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, good for a pixel density of 326ppi, but now has its first full-hd oled panel for smartphones announced. Just as the 4,5″-display, Japan Display 5,2″full hd display using white oled’s with about a rgbw color filter, so read at Tech-On. For the backplane is ltps technology used.

The pixel density of 423ppi for the 5,2″screen of Japan Display is also slightly lower than the 441ppi of the 5″-oled panel that Samsung for its new Galaxy S4. Samsung, however, makes use of rgb pixels with a custom, more compact system. The amount of subpixels per inch is at the Japanese screen, due to the rgbw configuration, however, higher.

Japan Display, a joint venture of Toshiba, Sony and Hitachi, has, incidentally, already displays developed with higher pixel densities. As the company announced in november last year, a 4,38″-full-hd display with a pixel density of 503ppi, but that was a lcd panel.
