Google demonstrates apps for Google Glass

At the SXSW conference in Austin, Texas, Google has the first third-party apps for the Glass-glasses shown. The three apps are from The New York Times, Evernote and Path, and with head movements to be controlled.

The app of The New York Times every hour important news on the screen show. With a movement upwards, the user photos and headlines. The glasses can also the text of a news article to read. The second app at the conference was shown, is Skitch from Evernote. With Skitch, a photo to be taken then directly to Evernote is uploaded. Later than comments on the picture attached. Finally, it showed Google Path. Path displays photos from the social network of the user on the Glass screen. The Glass-user can then be opinion or feeling to the photo express with an emoticon. By the emoticons scroll using the touch pad, which is located in the frame of the glasses.

Google sets demands on the apps for the augmented reality glasses. The four principles on which apps for the glasses must comply with are: “design for glass’, ‘don’t get in the way”, “keep it timely” and “avoid the unexpected’, reports The Verge. This seems to be Google, especially, to want to achieve that Glass-apps is not a constant source of distraction, but the user quickly small amounts of information present.

Google wants the augmented reality glasses by the end of 2013 release for less than the $ 1500 that the beta testers charged. Earlier, Google already has other functionality of the glasses. There were, among others, speech recognition, video recording and live translation of spoken words.
