A group of Taiwanese researchers have developed a prototype of a display that is on the nail of the user image should display. So would below more visible can be what on a touchscreen under a finger is displayed.

In the long term, Taiwanese researchers from the National Taiwan University and the Academia Sinica an almost-invisible display for eyes. That would, of transparent materials such as carbon nanotubes need to be made and also as a standalone display should function. Now, the Taiwanese people, however, a prototype of their NailDisplay developed with a small oled display works and for the time being only as a ‘look-through’ on a touch screen.

The current implementation should address the problem that, when a user on a touch screen is pressed, the finger is a part of the screen hides it. On the nail display to show what is behind the finger is done, the accuracy of the touchscreengebruik can be improved. Especially when playing games that they should help and also in the use of small interface elements have the additional display, the accuracy increase.

The prototype was made of an oled screen with a diagonal screen size of 0,96″ and a resolution of 96 by 64 pixels. An ATmega 32U4 Atmel-processor transmits the display and the accelerometer and other electronics. Feedback from the touchscreenapparaat the display of the NailDisplay of information provided: there is no image via a camera of the oled passed.
