Samsung presents ‘bouwvakkerstelefoon samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 with Android

Samsung has a ‘bouwvakkerstelefoon’ with Android presented. The Galaxy Xcover 2 has a 4″screen, runs on Android 4.1 and has an ip67 certification, because he is both dustproof as half an hour under water can be held.

The Galaxy Xcover 2 S7710 is, according to Samsung’s dust – and sand-proof. The phone is not only waterproof, but users can use the camera under water to take photos. The Xcover 2 has a 4″lcd with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. The phone runs on an unnamed dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1GHz. The phone measures 130x68x11,9mm and therefore is its screen size. The Galaxy S III is for instance just a few millimeters longer and wider: 136x71x8.6mm. The battery has a capacity of 1700mAh.

The phone runs on Android 4.1 with Samsung’s own TouchWiz skin. The Xcover 2 is the successor to the Galaxy Xcover, which is more than a year ago was presented. The manufacturer has nothing listed about price and availability of the device. According to earlier rumors, he would for at the end of march should come out and the price would probably be between 200 and 400 euro.

Update, Monday: Samsung reports that the Xcover 2 is indeed for the end of march in the Dutch shops. The suggested retail price in the Netherlands is 349 euro.
