Samsung shows quad-core-Android-smartphone with two to 3.7″screens

Samsung for the Chinese market, an Android phone is shown with two of 3.7″screens and a quad-core processor. The thousands of euros cost device is a clamshellmodel, and is in all probability not to the Netherlands.

The Samsung W2013 has a screen on the outside for operation with only touchscreen and on the inside, where a numeric keypad is present. The phone has a 1.4 GHz geklokte quadcore processor, likely the same Exynos 4 Quad like the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II. The phone has support for two sim cards: one for cdma and one for gsm. Both sim cards can be used simultaneously.

The phone, which on Android 4.0 is running, has a memory the size of 2GB, and is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera and 1.9-megapixelfrontcamera. The price of the device is not yet known, but according to Engadget would be the price without vat is between 2300 and 2500 euros, four to five times the price of a Galaxy S III. Provider China Telecom will be using the phone as a ‘premium’ smartphone sales, with gold accents.

Clamshells were approximately eight years ago, the popular, but in recent years gone to such models almost entirely out of the Dutch stores. Only the cheapest models are still ‘klaptelefoons to find. In parts of Asia, especially in China and Japan, clamshells are still popular.
