Nokia presents ‘Facebook-phone’

Nokia has made its first phone with a separate Facebook button presented. Although the nokia Asha 205 social media is addressed, lack of 3g and wi-fi on the device. The phone will be around 57 euros in costs, but he also comes to the Netherlands is unclear.

The Facebook button is on the left of the navigation pad below the screen and offers probably the ability to quickly access the Facebook app, or with a press of the button photos or other things on the own Facebook Timeline.

The phone, according Nokia only connect to the internet via gprs and edge; 3g, 4g and wi-fi seem to be missing. Supports the device, a new technology from Nokia with the name Slam, that phones via bluetooth can exchange data without having to pair via, for example, a security code. How the technology works, is unclear, but presumably it detects the phone, any device with bluetooth connection to the nearest, and then transfer files.

The Asha 205 has a 2.4″screen with a resolution of 320×240 pixels, with integrated navigation buttons and a qwerty keyboard. The camera can take pictures with a resolution of up to 0.3 megapixels. Also missing is the standard for micro-usb; instead, it is Nokia’s own 2.0 mm-connection is present. The phone falls in the Asha line of the Finnish manufacturer, which is mainly intended for developing countries; many Asha’s are not out in the Netherlands. They all run on Nokia S40, own operating system with support for J2ME apps.

The Asha 205 is not the only new phone from Nokia, the Asha 206 will come out soon. Both phones get a price of around 57 euros including vat and must be before the end of the year.

It is the first time that Nokia has a phone with Facebook button. Earlier, it was Vodafone all with their own Facebook phone, while HTC are ChaCha was the first such device on the market brought.
