During the annual SpikeTV Video Game Awards, a trailer is shown of a game called The Phantom Pain. Immediately after the screening there were rumors that in reality it is going to be a new Metal Gear Solid game such as Metal Gear Solid 5.

The video, which was shown during the tenth annual edition of the SpikeTV Video Game Awards, shows images of a game that goes through life as The Phantom Pain. To see how a man awakens from a coma, unaware of where he is, and how soldiers and other patients of the facility to kill. The teaser trailer still shows no gameplaybeelden, and says nothing about the identity of the characters in the game. Seems the voice of actor Kiefer Sutherland to be recognizable in the video.

Although The Phantom Pain is an original new game seems to be, there are many indications which suggest that it is in fact a new Metal Gear Solid game. So it seems the character in the video a lot on Solid Snake, and there would be a floating soldier in the video that would resemble Metal Gear-character Psycho Mantis.

Also notable is that the title is to be developed by the apparently newly founded Moby Dick Studios. It seems unlikely that a first game from a studio, to do this, nothing about it was known, immediately a stage as the Video Game Awards. In addition, it also seems to be the name Joakim Mogren, the director of the studio, a prompt. Joakim is an anagram of the name Kojima and Mogren is a football club from Montenegro. The story of the already announced and coming album Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance begins in Montenegro.

A reader of Eurogamer has noted that in an earlier trailer for Revengeance to read was that from ‘FOX’ two phantoms’ were born, which is a connection between Montenegro, Revengeance, and a second Metal Gear game is likely. Another reader of the English gameswebsite reported that the figures which together make up the logo of The Phantom Pain, exactly Metal Gear Solid V could games.

The American gamejournalist Alex Reuben reported meanwhile on Twitter that people of Konami during a party t-shirts of The Phantom Pain, making a connection between that game and the Japanese publisher is hardly to deny it seems. However, Konami still nothing is confirmed or denied.
