Telegraaf.nl serves visitors to malware – update

The website of the newspaper The Telegraph can visitors with a Windows pc to infect with malware. This warns the National Cyber Security Centre. By malicious code, visitors can become infected with a worm.

Computers of visitors according to the NCSC Live Security Platinum on the pc, a fake antivirus program, which says the user’s pc scan and virus removal. The user can then, perhaps, the computer is not in use, because programs cannot be opened.

The NCSC reports that the infection may have sustained through the page for the newsletter about sports. It is unclear whether or not the site the malware still serves. Also how the page is infected is unclear, but it often happens that through ads. The NCSC recommends people to the security of their computer to keep up to date, and to pay close attention to the online. A solution for the malware is not there yet. The malware focuses only on Windows.

Update, Friday 9.40: The Waarschuwingsdienst of the National Cyber Security Centre reports that the issue is resolved.
