Samsung has on the eve of the IFA consumer electronics in Berlin, the successor of the Galaxy Note announced. The Note II, gets a 5.5″ HD Super Amoled HD touchscreen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and of course a stylus.

Thus, the new Note has a different aspect ratio than its predecessor, but also the technology behind the screen is different. The subpixels are in a different arrangement placed in comparison with the first Note. This would make for a sharper image, also the chance of color casts when viewing bright images, is reduced.

The Note II is powered by a 1.6 GHz running Exynos 4412-quad-core-chip, the same as in the Galaxy S III but then 200MHz higher clocked. The Note II will have 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of storage memory and also has a micro-sd slot. The back camera has a resolution of 8 megapixel, while on the front a 1.9-megapixel camera. The battery capacity is 3100mAh, considerably more than the 2500mAh of the first Note.

The unit is supplied with the latest version of Android: 4.1, known as Jelly Bean with superimposed Samsungs own TouchWiz skin. This contains all the new features that were introduced with the Galaxy S III and Note 10.1, including Smart Stay, Pop up Play, Buddy Photo Share and Best Photo. For the Note II, is there still a Popup Note, which allows you at any time, a S Note-note open on top of a running app. With the new feature, Air View allows you a small preview of e-mails, Notes, gallerys, and videos by with the S Pen over the icon to hover without touching the screen.

The Note II should be in October on the market in colors marble white and titanium gray. The suggested retail price is 700 euro.
