The Haarlem business HUB Publishers are going to cut in the computerbladen Computer Idea and PCM. The editors of both magazines can be considerably thinned; with PCM disappears, even the entire editorial staff. The titles will remain survival.

The Tuesday announced reorganisation of HUB Uitgevers, where 35 of the 161 jobs disappear, has significant implications for the editorial boards of the computerbladen PCM and Computer Idea. That leaves an anonymous source know Tweakers.net.

Both blades continue to be survival, but with a considerably thinner line-up. With PCM disappears, even the entire editorial staff, who are now from ten persons. Also your Idea is cut, but that blade is less severely affected. In both cases, the eliminated jobs are compensated by freelancers who copy delivery. All the redundancies would be on 1 november, to be implemented.

Paul Miller, co-owner of HUB Uitgevers, confirms that there are a lot of jobs will disappear with the two magazines. “There disappear functional groups, and the impact is greater on PCM than on Computer Idea. A large part of the current line-up is flexible occupancy.” It should, according to him, among others, are thought to freelancers. In the case of PCM, according to Miller, ’99 percent’ of the editors are now content as a flexible power supply.

According to Miller, were the interventions ‘necessary’ to the blades to survive; it’s already bad with magazines in general and computer magazines in particular, according to the HUB director. “A lot of people often come on sites, for example, on that of you,” says Miller. Magazines have suffered from, he says. HUB has, according to him chose to are now heavily in to grab, instead of ‘a step back’ to do. “For magazines, this is an inevitable process,” says the publisher.
