Revengeance, the latest installment in the Metal Gear series, will be on February 21st in Europe appear. The game builds on ‘cyborg ninja character Raiden, who is struggling with his past as a child soldier. The game comes on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Kojima, the ‘grandfather’ of the Metal Gear series, published a photo of the release date of the game during Gamescom 2012. The game is a spin-off that is four years after Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots playing. Big difference with the other games in the series is that this is a pure hack & slash game without the typical stealth-elements.
The story, Kojima is still responsible for is, running again to Raiden, a character that his entrance was in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty from 2001. The cyborgninja is hired by a huurlingenorganisatie when he with his two katanas against a real cyborgleger have to fight.
What is remarkable is that the developer PlatinumGames ‘free slicing’mode has been implemented that allows players to exactly determine how and where the katana will cut. The developer promises that virtually all objects, walls and pillars are excluded, cut into pieces or minced meat can be.
