Intel has a new variant of its 330 series of solid state drives released. The newest ssd, the largest in the series of what storage capacity is concerned, it has a capacity of 240GB, while the rest of the ssds in price is reduced.

The 330 series solid-state drive was reduced in price to make room for the new 240GB version. The smaller versions, with capacities of 60GB, 120GB and 180GB, received lower prices. Also the more expensive series 520 ssds were considerably reduced in price. That series was at least ten dollars, or 9 percent, reduced in price. The largest decrease was for the larger drives; the 480GB version dropped in price from 809 to $ 594, or 37,7 percent.

The new 240GB version of the 330 series has not yet been awarded, but that would be about two hundred dollars amounts of money, given the prices of the other ssds in the series. Just like the smaller versions, the 240GB drive is built out of 25nm flash memory, powered by a SandForce 2281 controller. The drive has a sata-600 interface and would be 500MB/s read and 450MB/s when writing.
