Ontwikkelstudio Treyarch has confirmed that the pc version of the shooter game Call of Duty: Black Ops II can count on dedicated servers. It is not yet known whether there are also dedicated servers for the consoleversies be prepared.

The availability of dedicated servers for the pc version of Black Ops II was by ‘@pcdev’, an employee of Treyarch, on Twitter confirmed. Further information about the servers is not yet available, but it is clear that ranked Black Ops II-potties on dedicated servers can be played. Last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 had dedicated servers only allow for the so called ‘unranked’ pots.

Although the announcement is a step in the right direction seems to be for pc gamers, console gamers there are, as yet, nothing; there is still nothing known about any dedicated servers for the consoleversies. Since the consoleversies of Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 also not on the dedicated servers were for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, there seems to be on the consolefront little to change.

It is not the first time that Treyarch dedicated servers, announces a Call of Duty game. After the dedicated servers in Modern Warfare 2 from Call of Duty gone, reintroduced Treyarch this ability in Call of Duty: Black Ops. That happened, however, in the framework of an exclusive cooperation with gameservers.com, in which the servers by gamers rented had to be. Of such cooperation, it seems that Black Ops II does not currently exist.
