Japanese firm would Electronic Arts want to take over

Nexon, a Japanese publisher of free playable online games, would have contacted Electronic Arts and take-over bid want to do. The rumour comes from a South Korean newspaper. The share of EA is now increased.

Nexon is primarily known for free playable online games like Maple Story. The company was founded in 1994 in South Korea, but moved his headquarters later to Japan. The company also has offices in the united states and Luxembourg. Nexon went at the end of 2011 to the stock market and the yield was 1.2 billion dollars, in 2011, the largest ipo of Japan.

What revenue is concerned, Nexon is much smaller than EA. The American company expects a revenue from 4.17 billion dollars over the fiscal year that ended in march. Nexon brought out in 2011 a turnover of 1,13 billion dollars, the company made a profit of 256 million dollars to date. EA is, however, in heavy weather. The publisher sold in the past year, while 13 million copies of Battlefield 3, but raised an estimated $ 30 million in the marketing of the shooter. Further, it was EA a lot of money to spend on the acquisition of PopCap Games, makers of Bejeweled and Plants vs. Zombies. The exact amount with this acquisition was involved is unknown, but is estimated at a minimum of 650 million dollars. The share price of EA has been for quite some time declining. The value of a share is, since the arrival of director John Riccitiello in 2007 dropped from 62 to 16 dollars.
