Google integrates translation service in Gmail

Google has Gmail support for its translation service Google Translate added. Via a button at the top of an e-mail appears able to complete the messages to a different language to be translated.

The translation feature will be the coming days to users to be rolled out, reports the Gmail team on their blog. Completely new is the functionality; Google added in 2009, vertaaloptie to Gmail Labs. This is a set of optional, experimental plugins, some of which the full-fledged features kicking. It is also a Labs feature will not start and removed again.

Together with the translation function are still two other Labs features to a fully-fledged part of Gmail. The first was known as the ‘Title Tweaks’ and ensures that in the title of the page the number of unread emails displayed first. The last new feature is called ‘Smart Mute’, it allows unwanted emaildiscussies from the Inbox to be banned.

Also has the Gmail team a number of Labs components retired. These include Old Snakey, which lets the game Snake within Gmail could be played, Mail Goggles, that caused first time a math problem had to be addressed before an email was sent, and support for mouse gestures.
