Oracle launches new x86 servers with Intel Xeon E5-2600 cpus

Oracle has a new series of x86-based servers announced that are equipped with Intel Xeon E5-2600 processors. The renewed Fire, Blade and Netra servers according to Oracle, a number of benchmarkrecords have broken.

The x86-based servers are provided by Oracle under the brand name Sun offered. The two new Sun Fire servers, Sun Fire X4170 M3 Server, and Sun Fire X4270 M3 Server can be equipped with two E5-2600 processors. While the X4170 with up to 512GB of ram can be equipped, the X4270 is room for a total of 256GB. Both systems have four 10gbit-ethernet ports.

Oracle also has his Blade-line is refreshed with the Sun Blade X6270 M3 Server. Also, this server system can have two Xeon E5-2600 cpus lodge features 24 dimm slots. For the laying of network connections are two gigabit-ethernet ports available. Furthermore, it contains also the new server module Sun Netra X6270 M3 up to two Intel Xeon E5-2600 processors.

Oracle claims that the new x86 servers a number of benchmarkrecords have broken in SPEC CPU2006, SPECjEnterprise2010, and Oracle E-Business Suite R12.1.3. In addition, it allows the server manufacturer that its new x86 line to 87 percent faster performance than the previous generation. Also considers Oracle that the Fire, Blade and Netra servers, running Oracle Linux, and Oracle Solaris with Oracle VM can run, up to fifty percent cheaper than comparable HP servers, Windows and VMware running.
