EA is preparing Need for Speed movie for

Publisher Electronic Arts is preparing to make a film on the basis of the Need for Speed franchise to realize. The company is working with one of the makers of the movie Real Steel. There is still being negotiated with various film studios.

Electronic Arts works for the Need for Speed movie along with John Gatins, who previously was responsible for the screenplay to Real Steel, a movie that in 2011 in the cinemas appeared. Also John’s brother, George Gatins, is involved in the production. What film company the project will run is not yet known. The company that EA and the Gatins are represented in Hollywood, negotiated with Warner Bros, Sony and Paramount, reports Variety.

Paramount seems, according to Variety favourite for the script, but will look at other offers. Of the major studios, only Universal is not in the project interested; that studio has with The Fast and The Furious is a film series in the house that is substantively very similar to what a Need for Speed film would produce. Universal begins later this year with the inclusion of the sixth The Fast and The Furious movie.

Electronic Arts has not yet commented on the impending production and there is also nothing about the content of the script is known. Thus, it is also not clear on what Need for Speed the movie is based.
