The company Innovega is working on a contact lens that the display of augmented reality images need to improve. The optics of the lens ensures that the user both the information displayed as real objects in the distance sharp can see.

The contact lenses, and make sure that users simultaneously at two different distances to focus: the lens ensures that the displayed information for augmented reality on very short distance to the focus is shown, while the user at the same time focusing on objects in the distance. The creators have a video demo released, in which the dualfocus-concept is shown, where it is explained that the focus of information only works with polarized light.

The system of Innovega, iOptik is called, is designed to work with a hud that virtual information can view. By information about the visibility of the user to impose augmented reality is created. The lens system in 2014 should be available.

The American government would, according to the BBC are interested in the contact lenses to use for hud’s in the Us army to be used. The Pentagon would have placed an order for a number of the prototypes that Innovega has developed.

Showed you earlier, Google is a hud for augmented reality, in which the necessary technology is incorporated in a pair of glasses. The technique of Innovega might be working with Google’s Glass project. To the glasses to test, Google has already started with a pilot project.
