The Dutch Power Cows, Dutch distributed computingteam of GoT starts april 1, for its annual stampede. The combined computing power is used for the Docking@Home project, where potential lwa le medicines are to be examined.

In his annual stampede addresses the distributed computingteam of Gathering of Tweakers is a month long on a single project. This year is the bundled Tweakpower by the Boinc client to the development of medicines.

The Docking@Home project has the computing power necessary to make models of molecules and their interactions to examine, so that possible candidates for effective drugs to top can float. The simulation is docking called. The computing power is desperately needed since there are infinitely many combinations with regard to, for example, how molecules bind to proteins. The Docking project can help in the development of a medicine against hiv.

For the Docking@Home-Stampede is also a competition with five teams of the Dutch Power Cows on the rope. The teams are in the topic GoT composed. Not only DPC participates in a stampede. Worldwide, there are still many groups who are for the project bets. Thus, there is a Russian team, a team of the American navy, and one of techwebsite Ars Technica.

Of each participant and of each of the team statistics are kept, so they have their contribution on a leaderboard. In addition to the individual and the teamuitdaging, the stampede to make sure the Dutch Power Cows, as much as possible, collect points and the competition beat. Last year won the DPC, the first place in the stampede for Malariacontrol, which was helped in research to combat the malariaziekte.
