Archos unveils tabletplannen for 2012

Archos has his plans for 2012 at the tablet portion from the canvases done. The French manufacturer comes with successors to the G9 tablets, the thin G10 series, and want a new series of Arnova tablets, with prices starting from 50 euro offer.

During a press event the company announced that the new G10-series thinner should be than the predecessors. Archos is planning to make the thickness not more than 7.6 mm amounts, but otherwise there were no specifications published. The current G9-series consists of tablets with 8″ or 10″screens and with a OMAP4 processor at a clock speed of 1GHz, 1.2 GHz or 1.5 GHz. The new G10-series will have a keyboard dock as an accessory, and the prices of the models are between 200 and 300 euro.

In addition, Archos with a second series of tablets, called Elements. There will be a 7″, a 8″ and a 10″model for prices of respectively 129, 149 and 199 euros. For the rest, there are still no specifications published, except that the devices a Google certificate. That probably means that the application store Play is included and there Google applications are present.

Finally, Archos with a new series budgettablets that the under the brand name Arnova releases. The new models will be sold for prices between 50 and 150 euro, but also missing again specifications. It is likely, however, to the series Arnova tablets which earlier this month were announced. The cheapest model is 50 euro cheaper than the most of the available tablets, but users will have with a resistive screen have to do.

Archos brings regularly new tablets in the G-series, and via the budget brand ssl Arnova. The Elements series is however, is new, and what specifications probably refers to the middle between the Arnova and the G-series. Probably go on all the upcoming tablets on the Android operating system runs, just as their predecessors. The tabletseries are planned for this year, but exact release dates were not disclosed.
