Apple and Microsoft have partnered with BlackBerry-maker RIM, elektronicamaker Sony and network company Ericsson patentbedrijf Rockstar was founded. Rockstar on behalf of the companies money for licenses, requirements from other companies.

The consortium also has companies on board that make money by creating hardware for Android. Sony makes Android smartphones and Ericsson delivers with its joint venture ST-Ericsson processors for Android devices to Sony.
The five tech bought Nortel because of the 6000 patents. The bundle consists of patents that techniques are describe for wireless communication, 4g, voice, optical networking, and so on. Also would they relate to search techniques and social networking.
