ECHO Jazz 2016 – the nominees

At the end of may will again be the best and most successful jazz musician with an ECHO award. The cultural Institute of the Federal Association of the music industry and the German Phono-Academy, gave now the nominees are known.

56 national and international jazz musicians can from now on one of the most prestigious and coveted music awards in the Genre Jazz forward. The special at the ECHO Jazz: A 12-member Jury evaluated not only the success with the audience, but also the artistic performance of the musicians. The Jury consists of music journalists, representatives of record labels, concert promoters, and other experts together.

Among the nominees are prestigious German jazz musicians such as the Pianist Michael Wollny, or the Jazzlegenden Rolf Kühn, Klaus Doldinger. There are also international Stars like Joshua Redman, Diana Krall, José James, or John Scofield.

The ECHO Jazz since 2010. He is in addition to the ECHO classic and ECHO Pop the third pillar of the German Musikpreises. This year’s ECHO Jazz the 26. Mai in Hamburg awarded.
