AMD also brings Athlons to FM1-socket

In the FM1 socket from AMD, which motherboard with the A55 and A75 chipset, and will also have an Athlon processor, be inserted. AMD released the first Athlon II cpu for the socket a 2.6 GHz geklokte quadcore.

The AMD Athlon II X4 631, as the latest quadcore from AMD stole his full name is, is on 32nm produced. AMD has the same Llano cores as for the A-series in the Athlon used, but the gpu is missing, of course. The tdp of the stock is, however, also without the gpu, with 100W equal to that of the apu’s. The cores are 2.6 GHz clocked and are each about 1MB L2 cache. The introductory price is 79 dollars.

With the 631-introduction to the FM1 platform will be enhanced. The FM1 socket was linked to the A55 and A75 chipsets, simultaneous with the Llano-apus introduced. The new socket is not for previous AMD processors suitable: until now, applied only to the A6-3650 and A8-3850-apu in the socket. The apu’s are not only from the cores with the K10 architecture, but also have a DirectX 11 compatible gpu on board.

In addition to the new Athlon for the FM1-socket AMD also three new apus to be released. The A6-3500 is a triplecore that at 2.1 GHz clocked and turbo-functionality up to 2.4 GHz capable. The A6-3600 and A8-3800 are both quadcores which are, respectively, 2.1 GHz and 2.4 GHz clocked to be and both also have turbo up to 2.4 GHz and 2.7 GHz. The apu’s have a Radeon HD6550 or HD6530 with clock speed respectively 600MHz and 443MHz on board. The tdp of the three apu’s is 65W and the prices of 89, 109 and 129 dollars.
