“Microsoft start legal proceedings against the American telefoonscammers”

Microsoft is in the United States, a lawsuit started against a company that is guilty would make to telefoonscams. The company would trick unsuspecting pc users light up by themselves as Microsoft and they entice money to pay for it.

The American company, Omnitech, would pc users tell that their computer is infected with a virus’, and they tempt a lot of money to pay for support. In some cases the company would even malware installed, such as a tool for retrieving passwords from the user’s pc.

Omnitech could be compared to users posing as a Microsoft partner, to the confidence of users to win. Therefore, Microsoft begins a lawsuit against the company because of misuse of its brand name, as well as ‘unfair and deceptive trade practices’. As far as is known, the Us Omnitech nothing to do with the Dutch company that carries the same name.

It is unknown whether Microsoft also in other countries, for example in the Netherlands, behind telefoonscammers concerns. Also in the present; the police repeatedly warned of scammers who pose as Microsoft employees. Microsoft advises users to never pay money or access to the computer to give if someone masquerades as a Microsoft helpdesk and immediately contact the police.
