Finland has to say as the first country in the world with a series of emoji’s published. The series contains, among other charms of a headbanger, a sauna, and the Nokia 3310. The emoji of the phone is intended to indicate that something is unbreakable.
From 1 december there will be a collection of more than thirty Finnish emoji’s appear. Each day a new image will be presented in a xmas calendar with 24 boxes. The calendar is visible on a website, but there will be also apps appear. “We are especially not been seriously in making these emoji’s. Hopefully they will not only our foreign, but also our strong features reveal,” explains the ministry.
The emoji’s are an initiative of the Finnish ministry of Foreign Affairs to the country to promote it. The icons need to Finnish expressing emotions. As a foretaste, are the three emoji’s Sauna, Headbanger and Unbreakable.
In addition, the emojicollectie be extended with Finnish celebrities and other important things ” with the country associated. Art director Bruno Leo Ribeiro is responsible for the graphic design. He also made a collection of emoji’s from well known artists.
