Introduction

I was looking for a laptop for school that are not too expensive, good battery life and simple apps can run it well. After long searching and comparing I came out on this. With an offer at Media Markt, which is also the only shop that this laptop sells, I have this laptop for lwa 229,- purchased.

Extract

At first glance it looks good, Asus has opted for a clean box (with handle) with not too much fuss. Inside the laptop itself, protected by a soft transparent sleeve, and below it we find the user manual and the adapter. The battery is full and charging is (for me) is not per se necessary.
That same evening, Windows 10 on the install and I am wondering what I can expect from this laptop. We will see…

Build quality

The laptop is very sturdy in each other. Until now I have not yet kraakjes or loose parts. By rubber pads to the bottom of the laptop very firmly. If you laptop want to move, you must make it a real lift. I think this is not a problem, but maybe this is something you want to count in your consideration. The keyboard types fine and is not too high or too low and the springs are also not with it or something like that, which I personally love.

Screen

The screen is not really good, but that is not true I have this laptop I bought and it is also rare in this price range. The resolution is 1366 by 768 pixels (WXVGA) what I personally have enough love, and since I don’t have any games on this laptop play (what also can not, on Angry Birds o.i.d. after than), I find that also not really. The viewing angle is moderate, but sufficient. Basically I use the laptop only if I was right, so that does not bother me really.

Battery life

The battery life of this laptop is very good. Due to the low resolution and the fact that you’re not him for all the heavy tasks you can use the battery goes easily 2 days. If you sparingly, you might get 4 or even 5 days without needing to recharge.

Connections

In terms of ports, this laptop is rather scarce, especially with USB ports. Well, this is an expected saving in this price range, but it can still be a considerable drawback if you have multiple connections need. Even the connections at a glance:
– Charging port
– Ethernet port
– VGA port
– HDMI port
– USB 3.0 port
– USB 2.0 port
– Mixed mic/headphone port (3.5 mm)
– SD card port
Well, so the number of USB ports in the way, so if you have a mouse o.i,d, used in conjunction with this laptop, it is wise to use a BlueTooth mouse to use, so there is still enough space for other devices.
Further, the connectors are of course perfectly in order, and for presentations or something in the trend is the more than enough.

Memory

The memory is a point of attention. Because there is only 32GB of SSD storage by default, in it you can quite easily join in the mess, especially because Windows 10 is almost the half of this storage is in use. Fortunately, Asus has here found a solution for this, although this is not everywhere equally clear. At the bottom of the laptop there is a cover (kruiskopsluiting), and below, there is a SSD slot. At this moment I have a 256GB Kingston SSD in there, and this turns out very good. The size does matter, after all, there is a frame in the SSD in its place to keep, this is for a 2.5″ SSD. Also, there is a height restriction, simply because it is otherwise not fit anymore. According to me, the maximum height is 7 mm.

Overall performance

This laptop should not be purchased with the idea of a lot of games to play. Most web pages load pretty fast (in Chrome), although he is with some some effort. Especially with YouTube, he seems to have the heavy to have, and when switching to full screen is short (but definitely visible) desktop. This gives about the performance. Office runs on the other hand is very good, and because I use this laptop for school use, this is of course a plus. In combination with my own SSD is also fine, and the save goes well and quickly.

Conclusion
Asus has a nice budgetlaptop know, and this laptop with its screen size and weight ideal for travel, school, or work, provided that he is not to be taxed. Office runs well, the battery life is top and with the connections you’ll come to a presentation do not lack. In short: This was a good buy!
