I wanted to provide potential buyers of this beautiful 6 core CPU let you know that 128GB of ram works! Intel ARK indicates that CPU but 64GB of ram is supported, however, in combination with an MSI X99A Raider I 128GB can appeal!
This seemed to me, however short a “review” c.q. note worth. I don’t expect Intel this support but it works. Memory tests come out well and there are no errors shows.
For information, the system is used as a virtualization host, now turning 21 virtual machines on.
Hardware used in my ESXi HomeLab:
Intel i7-5820K with a Scythe cooler.
MSI X99A Raider
4x Corsair 32 GB DDR4-2666 Kit. CMK32GX4M2A2666C16
