The famous American musician Elvis Presley died on August 16. August 40 years ago in his Graceland mansion in Memphis. Elvis Presley didn’t let him, according to Tradition, specially from the USA, flown in, because the existing copy is well-liked in his residence in Bad Nauheim.

There the legendary singer rented at the end of the 1950s for a few months in the Pension Villa in Grunewald. Since then, the room with the number 10 and the Original is a place of pilgrimage for Fans of furniture. Journey back in time for Elvis Fans

“We are not a Museum,” stresses Thomas Dröscher. The 50-Year-old is the tenant of the “Villa Grunewald”, which opened after years of vacancy and renovation and now as a Hotel.

In 15 out of a total of 16 guest rooms straight-lined modern furniture in addition to opulent art Nouveau pieces. The traces of time should remain visible, especially in the famous room no 10.

Massive dark furniture, lush carpets, heavy curtains, gold-framed pictures, pink related armchair, a bathroom with floral tiles and the black toilet seat. The latest craze for the 1950s. “You have to love,” says Hotelier Dröscher, in view of the of the time fallen device.

But it is just a real piece of history. Photos show, according to his words, that much of the furniture was during Elvis’ stay here.

Secret love: Elvis and Priscilla in Hessen

In the autumn of 1958, Presley came as a soldier to Friedberg in Hesse, but lived in the neighbouring town of Bad Nauheim. Until the beginning of 1959 as a guest in the “Villa Grunewald”. After that, he moved into a house in the Goethestraße, where he met in the same year, the 14-year-old Priscilla Beaulieu, who he later married.
