Rumour: Steam Controller coming in October or november

The Steam Controller is released in October or november. That says a source from the game industry in gamebeurs Pax East at PC Gamer. Furthermore, Steam Machines at the end of the year and there are by that time reportedly 500 games that are SteamOS support.

The source of PC Gamer remain anonymous, but has the confidence of the pc-gamemedium. The Steam Controller would initially have a touch screen in the middle, but Valve later still apart. The current design still implies the dual touchpads, where other controllers are likely to use, but the touchscreen is replaced by ordinary buttons.

Valves Steam Controller is the final part of the plan of the American company to bring Steam Machines to the market. Steam Machines are compact pcs that run on Valves own SteamOS operating system, and on televisions can be connected. SteamOS is Linux based and runs always in the so-called Big Picture Mode, which is specifically intended for use with tvs and controllers. This would make Valve the convenience that consoles offer to Steam. Several manufacturers, including Alienware, Falcon Northwest, Gigabyte and Zotac, go Steam Machines on the market. Also comes Valve with a own design of the Steam console. Currently support 384 Steam games SteamOS.
