Qualcomm presents the successor to the Snapdragon 800-soc

Qualcomm has the successor to its Snapdragon 800-soc is presented. The Snapdragon 805 has four Krait 450-processor cores at up to 2.5 GHz and includes a new Adreno 420 gpu. Smartphones with this processor come within a half a year.

The Snapdragon 805 is mainly intended for the control of 4k displays, says Qualcomm. The soc, with the likely model number MSM8974ac, is still a quadcore. Qualcomm mentioned earlier octacore processors for phones already leh.
