Apple iOS 7 native support for game controllers

Apple has released iOS 7 native support for game controllers. This means that manufacturers of the gaming accessories are more dependent on app developers for support. Controllers that meet Apple’s requirements, work on all iOS devices.

During the keynote that Apple Monday night gave was just as the term ‘MFi game controllers on a slide about the sdk of iOS 7. MFi is Apple’s licensing program for hardware of third parties with support for iOS. Licensees may, for example, the logo’s ‘Made for iPhone’ or ‘Made for iPad’ perform, and also for the game controllers, that will be the case, claims to Touch Arcade.

The site shows an image of the type of controllers where Apple thinks. That are usual gamepads with colored y-,b-,a-,x-buttons, joysticks and shoulder buttons. One of the models seems, however, also a private screen, or in a case where an iPhone can. One of the requirements that Apple imposes on developers of games, would be that the game is also without a controller, with touchscreen, to operate.

Since iOS 5, the Apple TV supports AirPlay mirroring, reports The Verge, which media player with support for game controllers to use as a homeconsole. For Android, there are also more and more thuisconsoles for games, such as Ouya, BlueStacks and Mad Catz.
